I manage 44 client sites, and almost all of them live on one of two hosts. People ask me constantly which one to pick, so here is the honest breakdown I give my own clients.
Price: Hostinger Wins The First Year, Read The Renewal
Hostinger is cheaper up front, and not by a little. For a brand new business watching every dollar, that matters. SiteGround costs more but has held its renewal pricing steadier over the years I have used it.
Whatever you choose, look at the renewal price before you buy, not the promo price. That is the number you will actually live with.
Performance: Both Are Fast Enough, With A Catch
On a well built WordPress site, both load fast. Where I see the difference is under load. SiteGround handles traffic spikes on shared plans more gracefully. Hostinger performs great for the price, but I move growing sites to higher tiers sooner.
If your site runs Divi or another heavy builder, server response time matters more. SiteGround edges ahead there in my own testing across client sites.
Support: The Real Separator
When a client site goes down at 7am, support quality stops being a footnote. SiteGround chat support has consistently been faster to reach a competent human in my experience. Hostinger support is decent but I have waited longer on complicated issues.
My Actual Recommendation
New business, tight budget, simple site: go with Hostinger. It is the best value in hosting right now.
Established business where the website drives real revenue: go with SiteGround. The extra cost buys you steadier performance and better support when it counts.
And either way, hosting is only half the job. Someone still has to keep WordPress updated, backed up, and monitored. That is what my website care plans handle for the sites I manage.
