Hostinger
Hostinger is the budget pick. If you need a small business site up this week for the price of a couple of coffees a month, this is the box to tick.
Why it made the list
LiteSpeed + built in caching means a basic WordPress site on Hostinger feels faster than it should at the price. The hPanel dashboard is the first shared-host control panel I actually like handing to a non technical client.
Real world numbers
On the Premium plan with LiteSpeed Cache, a lean WordPress site lands around 250ms Time-to-First-Byte in the US and under 2s Largest Contentful Paint. Solid for the money.
The honest tradeoff
The $2.49/mo price is only for long multi year commitments. Month to month is closer to $11. Not a dealbreaker, just know what you are signing up for.
Verdict
If budget is the top constraint and you only need one or two small business sites, Hostinger gives the best speed to dollar ratio in the shared hosting tier. See current plans.
- ✓ Very aggressive intro pricing
- ✓ Custom hPanel is easier than cPanel for beginners
- ✓ Global data centers (US, EU, Asia, South America)
- ✓ LiteSpeed servers on most plans for fast WordPress
- - Longer billing terms required for lowest advertised price
- - Support is mostly chat, occasional queue times
- - Renewal pricing bumps significantly like most shared hosts
