Cartoon Nick has generated a few hundred product videos this year, and the most common failure is not quality. It is endings. The AI starts strong and then drifts somewhere weird by second six. Your product is supposed to be the hero shot at the end, and instead the camera is looking at a ceiling.

Two habits fixed it.

AI at Work Tip #79: Give it the first frame and the last frame

Google's Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash landed in Higgsfield in late August with first-and-last-frame control, and several other models support the same idea. You upload the image the video should start on and the image it should end on. The model fills the motion in between.

For a product reveal: first frame is the closed box or the empty counter. Last frame is your clean product shot with the logo visible. Prompt:

Start exactly on the first reference frame and end exactly on the last reference frame. Smooth 6-second camera push-in. The product is revealed gradually and is fully visible, centered, and in focus by the final frame. No new objects, no text, no people. Soft studio lighting matching the reference images.

The ending is now guaranteed, because you drew it.

AI at Work Tip #80: Upscale before you post, always

Most AI video comes out at 720p or 768p. Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube all re-compress on upload, so a 720p source ends up looking like 480p on a phone. Higgsfield added a FLUX 3 video upscaler in late August that takes clips to 1080p, 2K, or 4K with two modes: Precise (faithful) and Creative (adds detail). Use Precise for products, because Creative will helpfully invent a new label.

Workflow: generate at native resolution, pick the winner, upscale only the winner. Do not upscale eight drafts.

What's hot right now

MiniMax H3 Max joined Higgsfield at 768p for text-to-video and image-to-video, and the Global Film Festival deadlines passed mid-September, so expect a flood of very polished AI short films in your feed this month. Study the endings. The good ones were planned.

Where your web guy fits in

A great product video pointing at a product page with no reviews, slow load, and a broken add-to-cart button is a great way to pay for traffic that leaves. The Ad Studio packages at webguynick.com pair the video with the landing page, because one without the other is half a campaign.

Frequently asked questions

What is first and last frame control in AI video?

You supply the starting image and the ending image, and the model generates the motion between them, so your final shot is guaranteed.

Should I upscale AI videos before posting to social media?

Yes. Platforms re-compress uploads, so start from 1080p or higher to look sharp on phones.
